The Wivenhoe branch has won the Nigel Bird County Shield for recruiting which is awarded to a branch without an RBL Club. The presentation of the shield was made at the county conference to the immediate past membership secretary, Richard Gladwin, by county president Col R A Shervington. At a branch meeting, Mr Gladwin’s departure was marked by a presentation by Patrick Baxter of a certificate of appreciation for his work as a branch officer.  The Wivenhoe Service Club also made a presentation of a garden token. Roger Belsham has been elected as branch president following the death of Mr L Punshon.”
